KEANE WANTS BUTT AS CELTIC ASSISTANT

Manchester United legend Roy Keane wants former club teammate Nicky Butt as his assistant if he's appointed as the permanent manager at Scottish Premiership giants Celtic. This is according to the report from The Sun. It was revealed that Nicky Butt will be the assistant to Roy Keane if the former Manchester United skipper is appointed as the man to replace Neil Lennon as the permanent manager at Celtic.Neil Lennon was the Celtic manager until the former club player resigned from the position some weeks ago. Another ex-Celtic player in John Kennedy has been placed in temporary charge of the team until the end of the current campaign.

Celtic have been linked with a lot of big names ahead of next season and Roy Keane is one of those big names. Apart from Manchester United legend Keane, the likes of Frank Lampard, Eddie Howe and Mick McCarthy have been linked with the Celtic job. Keane has been involved with a lot of teams during his management career including his spell as the assistant manager to Martin O'Neill in the Republic of Ireland national team. The ex-Manchester United player was the number two to Republic of Ireland manager O'Neill. Republic of Ireland have not been the same team since Keane and O'Neill left the team a few years ago.

The team reached rock bottom last night after they were stunned by visitors Luxembourg in the second game of their 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in Group A of the European section. The Republic of Ireland were beaten 1-0 at home by lowly Luxembourg. Apart from the Republic of Ireland, Roy Keane has managed teams like Sunderland and Ipswich Town.
