HANNES WOLF ON CELTIC RADAR – REPORT

Borussia Moenchengladbach attacking midfielder Hannes Wolf is a reported target for Celtic in the Scottish Premiership. German newspaper Bild disclosed that Celtic could make an audacious bid for the player in the winter transfer window.

Wolf signed for Borussia Moenchengladbach from fellow German Bundesliga outfitRB Leipzig in the summer, but he has had to endure a lack of playing time at his new club. To this effect, the attacking midfielder has been linked with a move away from Gladbachin the search for more minutes on the pitch. Wolf has been restricted to just 303 minutes on the pitch this season in the colours of Borussia Moenchengladbach.

Gladbach paid around £8m for 22-year-old Wolf to secure his transfer from RB Leipzig in the summer and the player has struggled for regular playing time. Celtic are prepared to take advantage of the situation by launching a January bid for the player as revealed by Bild.

A permanent deal for Wolf could be a step too far for Celtic mainly due to the fact that Wolf only moved to Gladbach at the start of this season. A loan move appears to be a good option for all the parties involved.

Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou was appointed into his present managerial role last summer as the club tries to wrestle the best team status from Old Firm Derby rivals Rangers as far as the Scottish Premiership is concerned. Postecoglou signed a lot of players for Celtic shortly after his appointment was confirmed to help him in the quest to achieve the target of claiming the Scottish Premiership title back.

Postecoglou wants to sign more players next month as his rebuild gathers momentum at Celtic and Borussia Moenchengladbach star Wolf is a target. The Celtic boss has already established that there would be ins and outs at the club in the winter transfer window.
