SCOTTISH LEAGUE: CELTIC MAINTAIN TOP SPOT

Holders Celtic have maintained top spot on the Scottish Premiership log following the big away win over Kilmarnock in the latest round of games in the top flight of club football in Scotland. Celtic came into the Kilmarnock game with a perfect record after two wins from two matches and they were able to maintain that perfect record thanks to the 5-0 victory over hosts Kilmarnock.

Celtic are looking to make it two successive league titles this season after they reclaimed the title from rivals Rangers last season. Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou led the team to the league title last season at the expense of Rangers in his first season at the club having been appointed into the role last summer.

In their first league game of this season,Scottish centre back Stephen Walsh and Portuguese attacker Jota scored either side of the half-time break on the way to a 2-0 home win over Aberdeen. Celtic made it two wins at the start of the new league season in the Scottish top flight thanks to the 3-1 win at the home of Ross County with all the goals coming in the second half. Japan international KyogoFuruhashi scored the first goal of the game three minutes into the second half after a goalless affair in the first 45 minutes. Scottish centre back Alex Lacovitti scored the equaliser for the home team within ten minutes of the opener from Furuhashi. Celtic scored twice in the last six minutes to secure the three points thanks to the goals from German defender Moritz Jenz and Israeli attacker LielAbada. Abada came off the bench to score the third Celtic goal.
Furuhashi and Jenz made it two goals in two games when they were on target during the big away win over Kilmarnock on Sunday.
