No Need for a Summer Break, claims Celtic Boss Brendan Rodgers

Celtic have been able to enjoy a record-breaking campaign under Brendan Rodgers.

The Northern Irishman has been able to receive a huge welcome to Scottish football, as he has managed to transform Celtic into a real force in the north of Great Britain. In the previous regime of Ronny Deila, the club struggled to assert their superiority in the table as they are regularly came under challenge from Aberdeen. Now, it has not been the case with Celtic managing to win the league title in record fashion. Yet, this will not give Brendan Rodgers time to relax in the summer.

The former Liverpool manager claims that he will not be taking any time off. Since he is fresh and charged up, he says that there is no reason to take a break in the summer. It will be an important summer transfer window for Celtic. Rather than just dominate the domestic league, the club will be looking to expand its results in the European football. This season was mediocre in terms of the Champions League campaign.

Even though Celtic did face an extremely strong group, the team would have been hoping to do much better. The club even failed to qualify for the Europa League by finishing last in theChampions League group.

“I try to ensure the international break gives you a time to recover. At the end of the season time is minimal. As a leader, the two things you need are energy and happiness. I always try to have that so that I can inspire enthusiasm and go again. I don’t have much time to recharge my batteries, but that’s ok. I have to be detailed in how I look at it throughout the season but don’t worry, I’ll be fully charged up and ready,” said Rodgers.
